Apple Production in Turkey

Apple production in Turkey amounted to 2,424 thousand tonnes in 2015, declining by -2.3% against the previous year level. Overall, the apple output pursued a moderate decline from 2007 to 2015. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticable fluctuations throughout the analyzed period. This general negative trend was largely conditioned by a robust expansion of the harvested area and a noticeable contraction of the yield figures.

The growth pace was the most rapid in 2009, when the output figure increased by +11% from the previous year level. Over the period under review, the apple production in Turkey attained its maximum volume of 3,128 thousand tonnes in 2013. From 2014 to 2015, the total apple output growth failed to regain its strength.
