Apple Production in Spain

Apple production in Spain amounted to 688.9 thousand tonnes in 2015, rising by +11.0% against the previous year level. Overall, the apple output pursued a moderate decline from 2007 to 2015. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticable fluctuations throughout the analyzed period. This general negative trend was largely conditioned by a noticeable curtailment of the harvested area and solid gains of the yield figures.

The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014, when the output figure increased by +14% from the previous year level. Over the period under review, the apple production in Spain attained its maximum volume of 721.2 thousand tonnes in 2007. From 2008 to 2015, the total apple output growth failed to regain its strength.
