Apple Production in New Zealand

Apple production in New Zealand amounted to 427.6 thousand tonnes in 2015, standing approx. at the previous year level. Overall, the apple output pursued a moderate growth from 2007 to 2015. The trend pattern did not record any noticable fluctuations throughout the analyzed period. This general positive trend was largely conditioned by a noticeable curtailment of the harvested area and solid gains of the yield figures.

The growth pace was the most rapid in 2008, when the output figure increased by +6% from the previous year level. Over the period under review, the apple production in New Zealand attained its maximum volume of 447.7 thousand tonnes in 2010. From 2011 to 2015, the total apple output growth failed to regain its strength.
