Apple Production in Madagascar

Apple production in Madagascar amounted to 7.0 thousand tonnes in 2015, standing approx. at the previous year level. Overall, the apple output pursued a moderate decline from 2007 to 2015. The trend pattern did not record any noticable fluctuations throughout the analyzed period. This general negative trend was largely conditioned by a measured expansion of the harvested area and a slight contraction of the yield figures.

The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014, when the output figure increased by +2% from the previous year level. Over the period under review, the apple production in Madagascar attained its maximum volume of 7.1 thousand tonnes in 2007. From 2008 to 2015, the total apple output growth failed to regain its strength.
