Apple Production in Japan

Apple production in Japan amounted to 806.4 thousand tonnes in 2015, declining by -1.2% against the previous year level. Overall, the apple output pursued a moderate decline from 2007 to 2015. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticable fluctuations throughout the analyzed period. This general negative trend was largely conditioned by a slight curtailment of the harvested area and a moderate improvement of the yield figures.

The growth pace was the most rapid in 2012, when the output figure increased by +21% from the previous year level. Over the period under review, the apple production in Japan attained its maximum volume of 910.7 thousand tonnes in 2008. From 2009 to 2015, the total apple output growth failed to regain its strength.
