Apple Production in Israel

Apple production in Israel amounted to 55.2 thousand tonnes in 2015, declining by -29.0% against the previous year level. Overall, the apple output pursued a pronounced decline from 2007 to 2015. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticable fluctuations throughout the analyzed period. The total output figures decreased at an average annual rate of -7.3%. This general negative trend was largely conditioned by a noticeable curtailment of the harvested area and a noticeable contraction of the yield figures.

The growth pace was the most rapid in 2009, when the output figure increased by +18% from the previous year level. Over the period under review, the apple production in Israel attained its maximum volume of 131.6 thousand tonnes in 2012. From 2013 to 2015, the total apple output growth failed to regain its strength.
