Apple Production in Ireland

Apple production in Ireland amounted to 46.4 thousand tonnes in 2015, declining by -1.6% against the previous year level. Overall, the apple output pursued a moderate decline from 2007 to 2015. The trend pattern did not record any noticable fluctuations throughout the analyzed period. This general negative trend was largely conditioned by a noticeable curtailment of the harvested area and solid gains of the yield figures.

The growth pace was the most rapid in 2008, when the output figure increased by +4% from the previous year level. In that year, the apple production in Ireland attained its maximum volume of 50.0 thousand tonnes. From 2009 to 2015, the apple output in growth failed to regain its strength.
