Apple Production in Georgia

Apple production in Georgia amounted to 109.4 thousand tonnes in 2015, rising by +25.2% against the previous year level. Overall, the apple output pursued a moderate growth from 2007 to 2015. The trend pattern, however, was roller-coasting throughout the analyzed period. This general positive trend was largely conditioned by a measured expansion of the harvested area and a moderate improvement of the yield figures.

The growth pace was the most rapid in 2011, when the output figure increased by +205% from the previous year level. Over the period under review, the apple production in Georgia reached its maximum volume in 2015, and is likely to continue its growth in the immediate term.
