Anise, Badian And Fennel Production in Romania

Anise, badian and fennel production in Romania amounted to 4.2 thousand tonnes in 2015, standing approx. at the previous year level. Overall, the anise, badian and fennel output pursued a pronounced growth from 2007 to 2015. The trend pattern, however, was roller-coasting throughout the analyzed period. The total output figures increased at an average annual rate of +5.0%. This general positive trend was largely conditioned by a noticeable curtailment of the harvested area and solid gains of the yield figures.

The growth pace was the most rapid in 2008, when the output figure increased by +162% from the previous year level. Over the period under review, the anise, badian and fennel production in Romania attained its maximum volume of 15.8 thousand tonnes in 2010. From 2011 to 2015, the total anise, badian and fennel output growth failed to regain its strength.
