Anise, Badian And Fennel Production in Egypt

Anise, badian and fennel production in Egypt amounted to 26.0 thousand tonnes in 2015, declining by -1.9% against the previous year level. Overall, the anise, badian and fennel output pursued a pronounced growth from 2007 to 2015. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticable fluctuations throughout the analyzed period. The total output figures increased at an average annual rate of +2.1%. This general positive trend was largely conditioned by a robust expansion of the harvested area and a moderate improvement of the yield figures.

The growth pace was the most rapid in 2012, when the output figure increased by +9% from the previous year level. In that year, the anise, badian and fennel production in Egypt attained its maximum volume of 28.0 thousand tonnes. From 2013 to 2015, the anise, badian and fennel output in growth failed to regain its strength.
