Almond Production in Spain

Almond production in Spain amounted to 167.5 thousand tonnes in 2015, declining by -14.4% against the previous year level. Overall, the almond output pursued a pronounced decline from 2007 to 2015. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticable fluctuations throughout the analyzed period. The total output figures decreased at an average annual rate of -1.4%. This general negative trend was largely conditioned by a slight curtailment of the harvested area and a slight contraction of the yield figures.

The growth pace was the most rapid in 2009, when the output figure increased by +50% from the previous year level. In that year, the almond production in Spain attained its maximum volume of 270.7 thousand tonnes. From 2010 to 2015, the almond output in growth failed to regain its strength.
