Almond Production in Italy

Almond production in Italy amounted to 63.0 thousand tonnes in 2015, declining by -14.9% against the previous year level. Overall, the almond output pursued a pronounced decline from 2007 to 2015. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticable fluctuations throughout the analyzed period. The total output figures decreased at an average annual rate of -7.0%. This general negative trend was largely conditioned by a noticeable curtailment of the harvested area and a slight contraction of the yield figures.

The growth pace was the most rapid in 2008, when the output figure increased by +5% from the previous year level. In that year, the almond production in Italy attained its maximum volume of 118.7 thousand tonnes. From 2009 to 2015, the almond output in growth failed to regain its strength.
