Almond Production in Iran

Almond production in Iran amounted to 119.2 thousand tonnes in 2015, rising by +6.5% against the previous year level. Overall, the almond output pursued a moderate growth from 2007 to 2015. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticable fluctuations throughout the analyzed period. This general positive trend was largely conditioned by a noticeable curtailment of the harvested area and solid gains of the yield figures.

The growth pace was the most rapid in 2009, when the output figure increased by +25% from the previous year level. In that year, the almond production in Iran attained its maximum volume of 158.1 thousand tonnes. From 2010 to 2015, the almond output in growth failed to regain its strength.
