Almond Production in Greece

Almond production in Greece amounted to 14.9 thousand tonnes in 2015, declining by -26.9% against the previous year level. Overall, the almond output pursued a pronounced decline from 2007 to 2015. The trend pattern, however, was roller-coasting throughout the analyzed period. The total output figures decreased at an average annual rate of -13.1%. This general negative trend was largely conditioned by a noticeable curtailment of the harvested area and a noticeable contraction of the yield figures.

The growth pace was the most rapid in 2009, when the output figure increased by +16% from the previous year level. Over the period under review, the almond production in Greece attained its maximum volume of 45.7 thousand tonnes in 2007. From 2008 to 2015, the total almond output growth failed to regain its strength.
