Fluorspar Imports By Country

In 2016, Turkey (5.6M tonnes), distantly followed by Italy (2.7M tonnes), Spain (1.9M tonnes), and China (1.7M tonnes) represented the key importers of fluorspar, together creating 50% of total imports. The following importers ; the U.S. (1.1M tonnes), Mexico (1M tonnes), Thailand (972K tonnes), Russia (729K tonnes), India (641K tonnes), Canada (586K tonnes), United Arab Emirates (494K tonnes), and Mongolia (458K tonnes) together made up 25% of total imports.

From 2007 to 2016, average annual rates of growth with regard to fluorspar imports into Turkey stood at +1.5%. At the same time, Russia (+6.1%), Spain (+2.8%), India (+2.0%), United Arab Emirates (+1.7%), and Mongolia (+1.5%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Russia emerged as the fastest growing importer/exporter in the world, with a CAGR of +6.1% from 2007;2016. China, Mexico, the U.S., Thailand, and Italy experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Canada (;1.4%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2007 to 2016, the share of Spain, and Turkey decreased by ;1.8%, and ;2.9% percentage points, while the shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, the U.S. ($196M), Italy ($148M) and Spain ($73M) were the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2016, with a combined 40% share of global imports.Russia, India, China, United Arab Emirates, Turkey, Canada, Thailand, Mexico and Mongolia lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 19%.

China (+18.1% per year) recorded the highest growth rate of fluorspar imports, among the main importing countries, over the last 9 years, while the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Fluorspar Import Prices By Country

In 2016, the average import price for fluorspar amounted to $44 per tonne, waning by ;12.0% against the previous year. Overall, fluorspar import price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2008, when import price increased by 30% from the previous year level. Global fluorspar import peaked of $68 per tonne in 2011; however, from 2012 to 2016, it stood at a somewhat lower level.

There were significant differences in the average import prices amongst major importing countries. In 2016, the country with the highest import prices was the U.S. ($186 per tonne), while Mongolia ($0 per kg) was among the lowest.

From 2007 to 2016, the most notable growth rate of fluorspar import prices was attained by China (+17.9% per year), while the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2016, the amount of waterproof footwear imported worldwide totaled 451K tonnes, remaining constant against the previous year level. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +2.0% from 2007 to 2016- the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with only minor fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2010, when imports increased by 11% from the previous year level. Over the period under review, global waterproof footwear imports attained its maximum volume of 456K tonnes in 2014- however, from 2015 to 2016, it failed to regain its strength.

In value terms, waterproof footwear imports amounted to $1.4B in 2016. Overall, it indicated a strong increase from 2007 to 2016: the total imports value increased at an average annual rate of +2.0% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations throughout the analyzed period. Based on the result of 2016, waterproof footwear imports decreased by -15.8% against its level of 2014. Waterproof Footwear Imports By Country

China (128K tonnes) was the major importing country with an import of around 128K tonnes, which resulted at 28% of total imports. The U.S. (49K tonnes) took the second position in the ranking, followed by Japan (26K tonnes), and Saudi Arabia (21K tonnes). All these countries together held approx. 21% share of total imports. The following importers - Italy (17K tonnes), the UK (13K tonnes), China, Hong Kong SAR (11K tonnes), Germany (10K tonnes), Canada (9.3K tonnes), Ecuador (9.1K tonnes), Portugal (8.6K tonnes), and France (8.5K tonnes) together made up 19% of total imports.

China experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. At the same time, China, Hong Kong SAR (+28.9%), Saudi Arabia (+14.6%), the U.S. (+14.1%), Canada (+12.3%), Portugal (+9.3%), France (+2.4%), Germany (+1.7%), and Ecuador (+1.2%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, China, Hong Kong SAR emerged as the fastest growing importer/exporter in the world, with a CAGR of +28.9% from 2007-2016. The UK, Italy, and Japan experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. While the share of China, Hong Kong SAR (-2.3%), Saudi Arabia (-3.4%), and the U.S. (-7.5%) decreased significantly, the shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, the largest waterproof footwear markets worldwide were the U.S. ($165M), Japan ($153M) and the UK ($97M), with a combined 31% share of global imports.Germany, France, Italy, Saudi Arabia, China, Hong Kong SAR, Canada, Portugal, China and Ecuador lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 27%.

In that year, average waterproof footwear import price attained its maximum level of $3,713 per tonne. From 2012 to 2016, growth of average waterproof footwear import price stood at a somewhat lower level.

Import prices varied noticeably by country of destination. the country with the highest import prices was France ($7,896 per tonne), while China ($22 per tonne) was among the lowest.
