Japan (555K tonnes), Germany (441K tonnes), the U.S. (370K tonnes), China (332K tonnes), the UK (247K tonnes), the Netherlands (237K tonnes), Italy (166K tonnes), France (161K tonnes), South Korea (158K tonnes), Sweden (133K tonnes), Canada (120K tonnes), and Belgium (109K tonnes) represented roughly 69% of total imports of forklift truck in 2016.

From 2007 to 2016, the most notable growth rate of forklift truck imports, among the main importing countries, was attained by the Netherlands (+6.3% per year), while the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the U.S. ($2B), France ($1.2B) and the UK ($813M) constituted the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2016, with a combined 27% share of global imports. These countries were followed by Germany, the Netherlands, Canada, Belgium, Italy, China, Sweden, South Korea and Japan, which together accounted for a further 26%.

South Korea (+5.6% per year) had the highest growth rate of forklift truck imports, in terms of the main importing countries, over the last 9 year period, while the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Forklift Truck Import Prices By Country

The average forklift truck import price stood at $3,363 per tonne in 2016, falling by ;1.8% against the previous year. In general, forklift truck import price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2011, when import increased by 18% year;to;year. Over the period under review, average forklift truck import price reached its maximum level of $3,644 per tonne in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2016, it failed to regain its strength.

Import prices varied noticeably by country of destination. the country with the highest import prices was France ($7,228 per tonne), while Japan ($56 per tonne) was among the lowest.

In 2016, Czech Republic (22K tonnes), distantly followed by China (11K tonnes), China, Hong Kong SAR (8.1K tonnes), South Korea (5.9K tonnes), Spain (3.9K tonnes), and the U.S. (3.7K tonnes) were the key importers of spectacle frame, together achieving 72% of total imports. Italy (3K tonnes), France (1.6K tonnes), the Netherlands (1.4K tonnes), and the UK (1.4K tonnes) followed a long way behind this figure.

From 2007 to 2016, average annual rates of growth with regard to spectacle frame imports into Czech Republic stood at -14.3%.
