Motor Vehicle Imports By Country

In 2016, Japan (461K tonnes), China (316K tonnes), and South Korea (243K tonnes) represented the main importers of motor vehicle in the world, mixed up 31% of total import. The following importers ; Turkey (136K tonnes), Australia (115K tonnes), the U.S. (111K tonnes), Germany (109K tonnes), the Philippines (95K tonnes), Belgium (90K tonnes), France (74K tonnes), United Arab Emirates (65K tonnes), and Canada (64K tonnes) together made up 26% of total imports.

From 2007 to 2016, the most notable growth rate of motor vehicle imports, among the main importing countries, was attained by Australia (+34.5% per year), while the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest motor vehicle markets worldwide were the U.S. ($968M), Germany ($913M) and France ($901M), with a combined 18% share of global imports. These countries were followed by the Philippines, Canada, United Arab Emirates, Belgium, Turkey, Australia, China, South Korea and Japan, which together accounted for a further 16%.

Japan (+18.5% per year) had the highest rates of growth with regard to the motor vehicle imports, in terms of the main importing countries, over the last 9 years, while the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Motor Vehicle Import Prices By Country

In 2016, the average import price for motor vehicle amounted to $4,666 per tonne, flattening at the previous year level. Overall, motor vehicle import price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2008, an increase of 11% against the previous year level. In that year, average motor vehicle import price reached its maximum level of $4,908 per tonne. From 2009 to 2016, growth of average motor vehicle import price stood at a somewhat lower level.

Import prices varied noticeably by country of destination. the country with the highest import prices was France ($12 per kg), while Japan ($49 per tonne) was among the lowest.

From 2007 to 2016, the most notable growth rate of motor vehicle import prices was attained by Japan (+18.1% per year), while the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In general, published advertising material imports continue to indicate a skyrocketing expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013, an increase of 273% year-to-year. Over the period under review, global published advertising material imports reached its maximum volume in 2016, and are expected to retain its growth in the near future.

In value terms, published advertising material imports stood at $1B in 2016. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +1.7% over the period from 2007 to 2016- however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations over the period under review. Egypt (700K tonnes) prevails in published advertising material imports structure, amounting to 700K tonnes, which was approx. 89% of total imports in 2016. The following importers - China (29K tonnes) took near 4% of total imports, each. Mexico, Viet Nam, Malaysia, and Germany countries occupied the negligible share of total imports.

Egypt was also the fastest growing in terms of the published advertising material imports, with a CAGR of +155.3% from 2007 to 2016. At the same time, Viet Nam (+18.8%), Mexico (+5.7%), and Malaysia (+5.5%) displayed positive paces of growth. China experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Germany (-2.3%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2007 to 2016, the share of Egypt decreased by -89.0% percentage points, while the shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, China ($183M) constitutes the largest market for imported published advertising material worldwide, making up 18% of global imports. The second position in the ranking was occupied by Mexico ($66M), with the share of 6% of global imports. It was followed by Viet Nam, with the share of 4%.

From 2007 to 2016, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value of published advertising material imports in China stood at +3.5%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Mexico (+1.6% per year) and Viet Nam (+23.7% per year).

The average published advertising material import price stood at $1,312 per tonne in 2016, reducing by -21.0% against the previous year. In general, published advertising material import price continues to indicate a sharp deduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2008, an increase of 11% from the previous year level. Global published advertising material import peaked of $13 per kg in 2010- however, from 2011 to 2016, it failed to regain its strength.

Import prices varied noticeably by country of destination. the country with the highest import prices was Mexico ($9,428 per tonne), while Egypt ($6 per tonne) was among the lowest.
