The countries with the highest levels of photographic film imports in 2016 were the UK (29K tonnes), South Korea (26K tonnes), Germany (21K tonnes), Belgium (18K tonnes), Turkey (16K tonnes), Italy (13K tonnes), France (11K tonnes), Spain (9.8K tonnes), Mexico (9.6K tonnes), Brazil (8.5K tonnes), Indonesia (7.3K tonnes), and Australia (6.9K tonnes), together accounting for 70% of total import.

From 2007 to 2016, the most notable growth rate of photographic film imports, among the main importing countries, was attained by Indonesia (+9.4% per year), while the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest photographic film markets worldwide were Germany ($267M), South Korea ($245M) and Belgium ($186M), with a combined 20% share of global imports.Italy, France, Mexico, the UK, Turkey, Brazil, Spain, Australia and Indonesia lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 24%.

The average photographic film import price stood at $14 per kg in 2016, coming down by ;5.1% against the previous year. In general, photographic film import price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2012, when import increased by 27% from the previous year level. Global photographic film import peaked of $16 per kg in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2016, it stood at a somewhat lower level.

Import prices varied noticeably by country of destination. the country with the highest import prices was Germany ($13 per kg), while the UK ($3,534 per tonne) was among the lowest.
