In 2016, the amount of piano imported worldwide stood at 24K tonnes, approximately equating the previous year level. Overall, piano imports continue to indicate a deep curtailment. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2010, when import increased by 4% from the previous year level. Over the period under review, global piano imports reached its maximum volume of 40K tonnes in 2007; however, from 2008 to 2016, it failed to regain its strength.

In value terms, piano imports stood at $728M in 2016. Overall, piano imports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. Global piano import peaked of $787M in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2016, it stood at a somewhat lower level.
