Which Country Imports the Most Narrow Woven Fabrics in the World?

In that year, global nail and bolt imports attained its maximum volume of 4M tonnes. From 2014 to 2016, growth of global nail and bolt imports stood at a somewhat lower level.

Nail And Bolt Imports By Country

In 2016, China (1.3M tonnes) was the largest importer for nail and bolt, making up 42% of total imports. It was distantly followed by the U.S. (467K tonnes), mixed up 15% share of total nail and bolt imports. Oman (117K tonnes), Japan (81K tonnes), Canada (76K tonnes), South Korea (73K tonnes), Malaysia (63K tonnes), Germany (62K tonnes), and the UK (50K tonnes) followed a long way behind this figure.

China experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. At the same time, Japan (+3.8%), Malaysia (+2.8%), and South Korea (+1.3%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Japan emerged as the fastest growing importer/exporter in the world, with a CAGR of +3.8% from 2007;2016. Germany, and Canada experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Oman (;2.6%), the UK (;3.4%), and the U.S. (;5.3%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of the U.S. (10%) increased significantly, the shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, the U.S. ($765M) constitutes the largest market for imported nail and bolt worldwide, making up 34% of global imports. The second position in the ranking was occupied by Germany ($101M), with the share of 5% of global imports. It was followed by Canada, with the share of 4%.

In the U.S., nail and bolt imports plunged by an average annual rate of ;1.2% over the period from 2007;2016. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates: Germany (;0.7% per year) and Canada (+0.7% per year).

Nail And Bolt Import Prices By Country

The average nail and bolt import price stood at $714 per tonne in 2016, flattening at the previous year level. Overall, nail and bolt import price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2008, when import increased by 26% y;o;y. In that year, average nail and bolt import price reached its maximum level of $890 per tonne. From 2009 to 2016, growth of average nail and bolt import price stood at a somewhat lower level.

Import prices varied noticeably by country of destination. the country with the highest import prices was the UK ($1,835 per tonne), while China ($15 per tonne) was among the lowest.

From 2007 to 2016, the most notable growth rate of nail and bolt import prices was attained by Malaysia (+13.6% per year), while the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Narrow Woven Fabric Imports By Country

In 2016, Mexico (61K tonnes), distantly followed by the U.S. (29K tonnes), and China, Hong Kong SAR (21K tonnes) represented the main importers of narrow woven fabric, together generating 28% of total imports. China (16K tonnes), the Philippines (15K tonnes), the UK (14K tonnes), Poland (13K tonnes), Germany (12K tonnes), Viet Nam (12K tonnes), India (11K tonnes), Romania (11K tonnes), and Czech Republic (11K tonnes) occupied the mild share of total imports.

Imports into Mexico increased at an average annual rate of +6.8% from 2007 to 2016. At the same time, the Philippines (+25.1%), Czech Republic (+10.5%), India (+8.4%), Viet Nam (+7.3%), Romania (+4.0%), and the UK (+4.0%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, the Philippines emerged as the fastest growing importer/exporter in the world, with a CAGR of +25.1% from 2007-2016. The U.S., Poland, China, Hong Kong SAR, and Germany experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, China (-4.7%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. China (2%) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the global imports, while Czech Republic, the Philippines, and Mexico saw its share reduced by -1.6%, -3.2%, and -6.9% from 2007 to 2016, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, the U.S. ($342M), Mexico ($269M) and China ($208M) constituted the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2016, with a combined 26% share of global imports. These countries were followed by China, Hong Kong SAR, Viet Nam, Germany, Romania, Poland, Czech Republic, India, the UK and the Philippines, which together accounted for a further 28%.

Czech Republic (+8.5% per year) recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the narrow woven fabric imports, in terms of the main importing countries, over the last 9 year period, while the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Narrow Woven Fabric Import Prices By Country

The average narrow woven fabric import price stood at $7,999 per tonne in 2016, shrinking by -3.5% against the previous year. In general, narrow woven fabric import price continues to indicate a mild decline. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015, when import increased by 4% year-to-year. Global narrow woven fabric import peaked of $9,152 per tonne in 2007- however, from 2008 to 2016, it failed to regain its strength.

There were significant differences in the average import prices amongst major importing countries. In 2016, the country with the highest import prices was Viet Nam ($13 per kg), while the Philippines ($2,066 per tonne) was among the lowest.

From 2007 to 2016, the most notable growth rate of narrow woven fabric import prices was attained by China (+4.2% per year), while the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
