Which Country Imports the Most Fiber-Cement Articles in the World?

Leather Apparel Imports By Country

China (231K tonnes) represented the main importing country with an import of around 231K tonnes, which resulted at 48% of total imports. It was distantly followed by India (44K tonnes), comprising 9% share of total leather apparel imports. Germany (18K tonnes), China, Hong Kong SAR (12K tonnes), the UK (11K tonnes), Japan (9.4K tonnes), France (8.7K tonnes), Italy (8.3K tonnes), Spain (7.8K tonnes), Pakistan (7.7K tonnes), and the Philippines (7.6K tonnes) took the mild share of total imports.

China experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. At the same time, the Philippines (+8.4%), India (+1.9%), and Pakistan (+1.8%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, the Philippines emerged as the fastest growing importer/exporter in the world, with a CAGR of +8.4% from 2007;2016. By contrast, Spain (;3.4%), the UK (;5.0%), Italy (;5.1%), Japan (;5.5%), Germany (;5.6%), France (;6.2%), and China, Hong Kong SAR (;14.8%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of China, Hong Kong SAR (8%), and Germany (3%) increased significantly, the shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Germany ($655M), France ($505M) and China, Hong Kong SAR ($380M) appeared as the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2016, together comprising 21% of global imports. These countries were followed by Japan, Italy, the UK, Spain, China, India, the Philippines and Pakistan, which together accounted for a further 22%.

India (+17.1% per year) recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the leather apparel imports, in terms of the main importing countries, over the last 9 years, while the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Leather Apparel Import Prices By Country

In 2016, the average import price for leather apparel amounted to $15 per kg, reducing by ;9.1% against the previous year. Overall, leather apparel import price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2011, when import increased by 16% year;to;year. Global leather apparel import peaked of $18 per kg in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2016, it stood at a somewhat lower level.

Import prices varied noticeably by country of destination. the country with the highest import prices was France ($58 per kg), while India ($515 per tonne) was among the lowest.

From 2007 to 2016, the most notable growth rate of leather apparel import prices was attained by India (+14.9% per year), while the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Thailand (614K tonnes), and Russia (508K tonnes) represented roughly 23% of total imports of fiber cement in 2016. It was followed by Malaysia (277K tonnes), mixed up 6% share of total fiber cement imports. The following importers - China (205K tonnes), the U.S. (180K tonnes), Belgium (179K tonnes), the UK (178K tonnes), the Philippines (175K tonnes), India (148K tonnes), Czech Republic (143K tonnes), Italy (119K tonnes), and Canada (113K tonnes) together made up 29% of total imports.

From 2007 to 2016, the most notable growth rate of fiber cement imports, among the main importing countries, was attained by the Philippines (+18.8% per year), while the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the U.S. ($113M), the UK ($98M) and Canada ($93M) constituted the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2016, with a combined 28% share of global imports. These countries were followed by the Philippines, Belgium, Malaysia, India, Russia, China, Italy, Czech Republic and Thailand, which together accounted for a further 10%.

The Philippines (+36.7% per year) recorded the highest growth rate of fiber cement imports, among the main importing countries, over the last 9 years, while the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Fiber Cement Import Prices By Country

In 2016, the average import price for fiber cement amounted to $217 per tonne, going up by 3% against the previous year. Over the period from 2007 to 2016 it increased at an average annual rate of +1.4%.The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2011, when import increased by 13% year-to-year. Over the period under review, average fiber cement import price attained its maximum level of $236 per tonne in 2014- however, from 2015 to 2016, it stood at a somewhat lower level.

There were significant differences in the average import prices amongst major importing countries. In 2016, the country with the highest import prices was Canada ($824 per tonne), while Thailand ($2 per tonne) was among the lowest.
