The countries with the highest levels of ethanol imports in 2016 were the Netherlands (X tonnes), Germany (X tonnes), Canada (X tonnes), Brazil (X tonnes), the U.S. (X tonnes), the UK (X tonnes), Japan (X tonnes), China (X tonnes), the Philippines (X tonnes), South Korea (X tonnes), India (X tonnes), and Italy (X tonnes), together amounting to X% of total import.
From 2007 to 2016, the most notable growth rate of ethanol imports, among the main importing countries, was attained by Brazil (+X% per year), while the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest ethanol markets worldwide were the Netherlands ($X), Germany ($X) and Canada ($X), with a combined X% share of global imports.The U.S., Japan, the UK, China, Brazil, the Philippines, India, South Korea and Italy lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further X%.

Ethanol Import Prices By Country
The average ethanol import price stood at $X per tonne in 2016, descending by -X% against the previous year. Overall, ethanol import price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2011, when import increased by X% year-to-year. Over the period under review, average ethanol import price reached its maximum level of $X per tonne in 2012- however, from 2013 to 2016, it failed to regain its strength.
There were significant differences in the average import prices amongst major importing countries. In 2016, the country with the highest import prices was Japan ($X per tonne), while Brazil ($X per tonne) was among the lowest.
From 2007 to 2016, the most notable growth rate of ethanol import prices was attained by South Korea (+X% per year), while the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
