The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2010, an increase of 9% y;o;y. Over the period under review, global circuit breaker imports reached its maximum volume in 2016, and are expected to retain its growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, circuit breaker imports amounted to $8.2B in 2016. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +2.3% over the period from 2007 to 2016; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with only minor fluctuations being observed over the period under review. Global circuit breaker import peaked of $9.2B in 2011; however, from 2012 to 2016, it stood at a somewhat lower level.

Circuit Breaker Imports By Country

In 2016, Germany (50K tonnes), Saudi Arabia (47K tonnes), South Korea (36K tonnes), China (34K tonnes), Italy (30K tonnes), the U.S. (26K tonnes), Switzerland (25K tonnes), France (25K tonnes), Mexico (23K tonnes), Singapore (22K tonnes), Malaysia (19K tonnes), and India (18K tonnes) were the largest importers of circuit breaker in the world, making up 53% of total import.

From 2007 to 2016, the most notable growth rate of circuit breaker imports, among the main importing countries, was attained by China (+13.0% per year), while the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the U.S. ($804M), Saudi Arabia ($779M) and Germany ($404M) constituted the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2016, with a combined 24% share of global imports.

Saudi Arabia (+9.3% per year) experienced the highest growth rate of circuit breaker imports, in terms of the main importing countries, over the last 9 year period, while the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Circuit Breaker Import Prices By Country

In 2016, the average import price for circuit breaker amounted to $12 per kg, waning by ;4.2% against the previous year. In general, circuit breaker import price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2008, when import increased by 20% y;o;y. Over the period under review, average circuit breaker import price attained its maximum level of $16 per kg in 2009; however, from 2010 to 2016, it stood at a somewhat lower level.

Import prices varied noticeably by country of destination. the country with the highest import prices was the U.S. ($31 per kg), while Switzerland ($3,300 per tonne) was among the lowest.

From 2007 to 2016, the most notable growth rate of circuit breaker import prices was attained by the U.S. (+6.4% per year), while the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Global bearing import peaked of 3.5M tonnes in 2014- however, from 2015 to 2016, it failed to regain its strength.

In value terms, bearing imports stood at $29B in 2016. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +1.0% over the period from 2007 to 2016- the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations over the period under review. Global bearing import peaked of $36B in 2011- however, from 2012 to 2016, it stood at a somewhat lower level.

Bearing Imports By Country

China (455K tonnes), Japan (359K tonnes), Germany (348K tonnes), and the U.S. (270K tonnes) represented roughly 43% of total imports of bearing in 2016. It was distantly followed by France (160K tonnes), creating 5% share of total bearing imports. The following importers - Mexico (140K tonnes), South Korea (105K tonnes), Italy (103K tonnes), Romania (83K tonnes), Singapore (76K tonnes), Slovakia (73K tonnes), and India (71K tonnes) together made up 19% of total imports.

From 2007 to 2016, the most notable growth rate of bearing imports, among the main importing countries, was attained by India (+8.0% per year), while the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest bearing markets worldwide were Germany ($3.8B), China ($3.2B) and the U.S. ($2.7B), together accounting for 33% of global imports. These countries were followed by France, Mexico, Italy, South Korea, Singapore, India, Japan, Slovakia and Romania, which together accounted for a further 28%.

Mexico (+7.8% per year) experienced the highest growth rate of bearing imports, in terms of the main importing countries, over the last 9 years, while the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average bearing import price stood at $8,702 per tonne in 2016, coming down by -4.3% against the previous year. In general, bearing import price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2008, when import increased by 16% year-to-year. Global bearing import peaked of $10 per kg in 2011- however, from 2012 to 2016, it failed to regain its strength.

There were significant differences in the average import prices amongst major importing countries. In 2016, the country with the highest import prices was India ($13 per kg), while Japan ($1,746 per tonne) was among the lowest.

From 2007 to 2016, the most notable growth rate of bearing import prices was attained by China (+3.5% per year), while the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
