The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations throughout the analyzed period. Based on the result of 2016, aluminium imports decreased by -X% against its level of 2013. In that year, global aluminium imports reached its maximum level of $X. From 2014 to 2016, growth of global aluminium imports stood at a somewhat lower level.

Aluminium Imports By Country
In 2016, China (X tonnes) was the key importer for aluminium, comprising X% of total imports. Australia (X tonnes) ranks second globally in aluminium imports with a X% share, following Guinea (X%). Ireland (X tonnes), Spain (X tonnes), Ukraine (X tonnes), Canada (X tonnes), and Germany (X tonnes) followed a long way behind this figure.
China was also the fastest growing in terms of the aluminium imports, with a CAGR of +X% from 2007 to 2016. At the same time, Guinea (+X%), Spain (+X%), Australia (+X%), and Ireland (+X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Canada experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Ukraine (-X%), and Germany (-X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Australia (-X%), Guinea (-X%), and China (-X%) decreased significantly, the shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

Guinea (nan% per year) recorded the highest growth rate of aluminium imports, among the main importing countries, over the last X years, while the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Aluminium Import Prices By Country
In 2016, the average import price for aluminium amounted to $X per tonne, going down by -X% against the previous year. Overall, aluminium import price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2008, when import price increased by X% against the previous year level. In that year, average aluminium import price attained its maximum level of $X per tonne. From 2009 to 2016, growth of average aluminium import price stood at a somewhat lower level.
There were significant differences in the average import prices amongst major importing countries. In 2016, the country with the highest import prices was Germany ($X per tonne), while Australia ($X per kg) was among the lowest.
From 2007 to 2016, the most notable growth rate of aluminium import prices was attained by Ireland (+X% per year), while the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
