Aluminium Foil Imports By Country
China (X tonnes) represented the major importer of aluminium foil in the world, recording X tonnes, which was approx. X% of total imports in 2016. The U.S. (X tonnes) occupied a X% share (based on tonnes) of global aluminium foil imports, which put it in second place, following Germany (X%). The following importers - Spain (X tonnes), India (X tonnes), France (X tonnes), the UK (X tonnes), Mexico (X tonnes), Italy (X tonnes), Japan (X tonnes), South Korea (X tonnes), and Thailand (X tonnes) together made up X% of total imports.
China experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. Moreover, India emerged as the fastest growing importer/exporter in the world, with a CAGR of +X% from 2007-2016. By contrast, Spain (-X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. The U.S. (-X%), and India (-X%) significantly weakened its position in terms of the global imports, while the shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, the largest aluminium foil markets worldwide were the U.S. ($X), Germany ($X) and China ($X), together comprising X% of global imports. These countries were followed by France, Mexico, India, the UK, Italy, Thailand, Japan, Spain and South Korea, which together accounted for a further X%.
India (+X% per year) recorded the highest growth rate of aluminium foil imports, in terms of the main importing countries, over the last X year period, while the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Aluminium Foil Import Prices By Country
The average aluminium foil import price stood at $X per tonne in 2016, falling by -X% against the previous year. In general, aluminium foil import price continues to indicate a slight shrinkage. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2011, when import price increased by X% from the previous year level. In that year, average aluminium foil import price reached its maximum level of $X per tonne. From 2012 to 2016, growth of average aluminium foil import price stood at a somewhat lower level.
Import prices varied noticeably by country of destination. the country with the highest import prices was Germany ($X per tonne), while China ($X per tonne) was among the lowest.
From 2007 to 2016, the most notable growth rate of aluminium foil import prices was attained by Japan (+X% per year), while the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
