Global rubber tube and pipe exports amounted to 1M tonnes in 2016, reducing by -3.6% against the previous year level. The total export volume increased at an average annual rate of +2.3% from 2007 to 2016; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations in certain years. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2010, when export increased by 38% year-to-year. Over the period under review, global rubber tube and pipe exports reached its maximum volume of 1.1M tonnes in 2015, falling back in the following year.

In value terms, rubber tube and pipe exports amounted to $8.9B in 2016. Overall, it indicated a moderate expansion from 2007 to 2016: the total exports value increased at an average annual rate of +2.3% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations throughout the analyzed period. Based on the result of 2016, rubber tube and pipe exports decreased by -10.3% against its level of 2014. Over the period under review, global rubber tube and pipe exports reached its maximum level of $9.9B in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2016, it stood at a somewhat lower level.

China (157K tonnes), Czech Republic (128K tonnes), the U.S. (95K tonnes), Germany (77K tonnes), Italy (69K tonnes), Turkey (64K tonnes), Mexico (47K tonnes), Malaysia (42K tonnes), Thailand (38K tonnes), Poland (33K tonnes), Japan (29K tonnes), and Spain (20K tonnes) represented roughly 77% of total exports of rubber tube and pipe in 2016.

From 2007 to 2016, the most notable growth rate of rubber tube and pipe exports, among the main exporting countries, was attained by Czech Republic (+13.6% per year), while the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Germany ($1.3B), the U.S. ($957M) and China ($775M) appeared as the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2016, together accounting for 34% of global exports.

China (+12.4% per year) recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the rubber tube and pipe exports, in terms of the main exporting countries, over the last 9 year period, while the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Rubber Tube And Pipe Export Prices By Country

In 2016, the average export price for rubber tube and pipe amounted to $8,623 per tonne, surging by 4% against the previous year. In general, rubber tube and pipe export price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2011, when export price increased by 7% year-to-year. Global rubber tube and pipe export peaked of $9,687 per tonne in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2016, it failed to regain its strength.

Export prices varied noticeably by country of destination. the country with the highest export prices was Japan ($18 per kg), while Czech Republic ($3,406 per tonne) was among the lowest.
