Global turbo-jet exports stood at 228K tonnes in 2016, rising by 5% against the previous year level. In general, turbo-jet exports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2008, when exports increased by 9% against the previous year level. In that year, global turbo-jet exports attained its maximum volume of 253K tonnes. From 2009 to 2016, growth of global turbo-jet exports stood at a somewhat lower level.

In value terms, turbo-jet exports totaled $101B in 2016. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +2.2% from 2007 to 2016; the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations in certain years. Global turbo-jet export peaked in 2016, and are expected to retain its growth in the near future.

Turbo-Jet Exports By Country

In 2016, Germany (39K tonnes), Italy (35K tonnes), and France (27K tonnes) were the major exporters of turbo-jet in the world, generating 44% of total export. The UK (18K tonnes) took the second position in the ranking, followed by Japan (15K tonnes), Iran (14K tonnes), and the Netherlands (12K tonnes). All these countries together held approx. 26% share of total exports. Czech Republic (7.6K tonnes), Switzerland (6.7K tonnes), Austria (6K tonnes), Romania (5.1K tonnes), and Hungary (4.8K tonnes) followed a long way behind this figure.

From 2007 to 2016, the most notable growth rate of turbo-jet exports, among the main exporting countries, was attained by Iran (+21.7% per year), while the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the UK ($19B), France ($12B) and Germany ($8.2B) constituted the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2016, together comprising 39% of global exports.Japan, Italy, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Hungary, Czech Republic, Iran, Austria and Romania lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 15%.

Iran (+27.2% per year) recorded the highest growth rate of turbo-jet exports, among the main exporting countries, over the last 9 year period, while the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Turbo-Jet Export Prices By Country

The average turbo-jet export price stood at $445 per kg in 2016, going up by 3% against the previous year. Over the last nine years it increased at an average annual rate of +2.4%.The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2010, an increase of 16% y-o-y. Over the period under review, average turbo-jet export price reached its maximum level in 2016, and is expected to retain its growth in the immediate term.

There were significant differences in the average export prices amongst major exporting countries. In 2016, the country with the highest export prices was the UK ($1.1K per kg), while Romania ($27 per kg) was among the lowest.

From 2007 to 2016, the most notable growth rate of turbo-jet export prices was attained by Czech Republic (+11.3% per year), while the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
