Sportswear Imports By Country
China (X tonnes) represented the key importing country with an import of about X tonnes, which accounted for X% of total imports. It was distantly followed by the U.S. (X tonnes), creating X% share of total sportswear imports. The UK (X tonnes), Indonesia (X tonnes), France (X tonnes), Germany (X tonnes), Cambodia (X tonnes), Italy (X tonnes), Spain (X tonnes), Viet Nam (X tonnes), China, Hong Kong SAR (X tonnes), and Algeria (X tonnes) occupied the minor share of total imports.
China experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. At the same time, the U.S. (+X%), the UK (+X%), France (+X%), Cambodia (+X%), and Indonesia (+X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, the U.S. emerged as the fastest growing importer/exporter in the world, with a CAGR of +X% from 2007-2016. Viet Nam, and China, Hong Kong SAR experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Algeria (-X%), Germany (-X%), Italy (-X%), and Spain (-X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Spain (X%), and Italy (X%) increased significantly, the share of the U.S. (-X%) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, the U.S. ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported sportswear worldwide, making up X% of global imports. The second position in the ranking was occupied by Germany ($X), with the share of X% of global imports. It was followed by France, with the share of X%.
From 2007 to 2016, the average annual growth rate of value of sportswear imports in the U.S. stood at +X%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Germany (+X% per year) and France (+X% per year).
Sportswear Import Prices By Country
The average sportswear import price stood at $X per kg in 2016, import ,therefore, remained relatively stable against the previous year level. Over the period from 2007 to 2016 it increased at an average annual rate of +X pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2011, an increase of X% from the previous year level. Over the period under review, average sportswear import price attained its maximum level of $X per kg in 2014- however, from 2015 to 2016, it failed to regain its strength.
Import prices varied noticeably by country of destination. the country with the highest import prices was China, Hong Kong SAR ($X per kg), while Cambodia ($X per tonne) was among the lowest.
From 2007 to 2016, the most notable growth rate of sportswear import prices was attained by Cambodia (+X% per year), while the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
