Global armored fighting vehicle exports stood at 40K tonnes in 2016, going up by 14% against the previous year figure. In general, armored fighting vehicle exports continue to indicate a deep descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016, when export increased by 14% year-to-year. Over the period under review, global armored fighting vehicle exports reached its maximum volume of 78K tonnes in 2007; however, from 2008 to 2016, it failed to regain its strength.

In value terms, armored fighting vehicle exports totaled $2.7B in 2016. Overall, armored fighting vehicle exports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. Global armored fighting vehicle export peaked of $3.5B in 2009; however, from 2010 to 2016, it stood at a somewhat lower level.

Armored Fighting Vehicle Exports By Country

Germany (13K tonnes), and Canada (9.8K tonnes) represented roughly 58% of total exports of armored fighting vehicle in 2016. It was distantly followed by Poland (3.2K tonnes), committing 8% share of total armored fighting vehicle exports. The following exporters - the Netherlands (1.6K tonnes), Israel (1.5K tonnes), 384 (1.4K tonnes), South Africa (1.3K tonnes), South Korea (1K tonnes), the U.S. (949 tonnes), Senegal (933 tonnes), Russia (801 tonnes), and Slovakia (734 tonnes) together made up 26% of total exports.

From 2007 to 2016, the most notable growth rate of armored fighting vehicle exports, among the main exporting countries, was attained by Senegal (nan% per year), while the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the U.S. ($1.2B) emerged as the largest armored fighting vehicle supplier in the world, making up 45% of global exports. The second position in the ranking was occupied by Canada ($526M), with the share of 20% of global exports. It was followed by Germany, with the share of 13%.

From 2007 to 2016, the average annual growth rate of value of armored fighting vehicle exports in the U.S. expanded at +1.7%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Canada (+2.2% per year) and Germany (+7.7% per year).

Armored Fighting Vehicle Export Prices By Country

In 2016, the average export price for armored fighting vehicle amounted to $67 per kg, dropping by -8.9% against the previous year. Overall, it indicated a prominent increase from 2007 to 2016: the export price value increased at an average annual rate of +7.4% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations throughout the analyzed period. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2011, when export increased by 27% against the previous year level. Over the period under review, average armored fighting vehicle export price attained its maximum level of $74 per kg in 2015, falling back in the following year.

There were significant differences in the average export prices amongst major exporting countries. In 2016, the country with the highest export prices was the U.S. ($1.3K per kg), while Russia ($585 per tonne) was among the lowest.
