Which Country Exports the Most Tallow in the World?

Global tallow exports amounted to 1,731 thousand tonnes in 2015, coming up by +1.4% against the previous year level. Overall, the global tallow exports indicated a pronounced decline from 2007 to 2015. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticable fluctuations throughout the analyzed period. The total export volume decreased at an average annual rate of -3.2% over the last eight years.

The growth pace was the most rapid in 2010, when the output figure increased by +5% from the previous year level. Over the period under review, the global tallow exports attained its maximum volume of 2,304 thousand tonnes in 2008. From 2009 to 2015, the total tallow exports growth failed to regain its strength.

In value terms, global exports amounted to $1,050 million in 2015. Overall, the value of global exports decreased substantially from 2007 to 2015, curtailing at an average annual rate of -2.8%. This trend pattern, however, indicated relatively mild fluctuations throughout the analyzed period.

Tallow Imports By Country

The countries with the highest levels of the tallow exports in 2015 were Australia (475 thousand tonnes), the United States (408 thousand tonnes), New Zealand (145 thousand tonnes), together accounting for 59% of total exports.

From 2007 to 2015, the most notable growth rates of tallow exports among the main exporting countries was attained by Australia (+3.4% per year), while the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the United States (277 million USD), Australia (267 million USD) and New Zealand (81 million USD) were the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2015, together accounting for 59% of total exports.

the United Kingdom (+9.8% per year) had the highest growth rates of tallow exports among the main exporting countries over the last eight years, while the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
