Mexico (8.5M tonnes) prevails in pump for liquid imports structure, resulting at 8.5M tonnes, which was approx. 67% of total imports in 2016. China (452K tonnes), Germany (407K tonnes), the U.S. (386K tonnes), Italy (265K tonnes), and the Netherlands (255K tonnes) took the slight share of total imports.

Mexico experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. At the same time, the Netherlands (+3.1%), the U.S. (+3.0%), Germany (+1.3%), and China (+1.0%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, the Netherlands emerged as the fastest growing importer/exporter in the world, with a CAGR of +3.1% from 2007-2016. Italy experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. The shares of the largest importers remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, the U.S. ($9.6B) constitutes the largest market for imported pump for liquid worldwide, making up 16% of global imports. The second position in the ranking was occupied by Germany ($4.4B), with the share of 7% of global imports. It was followed by China, with the share of 7%.

From 2007 to 2016, the average annual growth rate of value of pump for liquid imports in the U.S. stood at +4.6%. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates: Germany (+2.5% per year) and China (+5.3% per year).

Pump For Liquid Import Prices By Country

The average pump for liquid import price stood at $4,664 per tonne in 2016, dropping by -4.8% against the previous year. Over the period from 2007 to 2016 it increased at an average annual rate of +1.8%.The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2011, when import price increased by 17% y-o-y. Global pump for liquid import peaked of $5,466 per tonne in 2014- however, from 2015 to 2016, it stood at a somewhat lower level.

Import prices varied noticeably by country of destination. the country with the highest import prices was the U.S. ($25 per kg), while Mexico ($251 per tonne) was among the lowest.

From 2007 to 2016, the most notable growth rate of pump for liquid import prices was attained by Mexico (+6.5% per year), while the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
