Which Country Exports the Most Published Trade Advertising Material in the World?

In 2016, the global exports of published advertising material amounted to 37K tonnes, going down by -12.9% against the previous year figure. In general, published advertising material exports continue to indicate a mild expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2012, an increase of 40% year-to-year. Global published advertising material export peaked of 50K tonnes in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2016, it stood at a somewhat lower level.

In value terms, published advertising material exports amounted to $1.1B in 2016. Overall, published advertising material exports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. In that year, global published advertising material exports reached its maximum level of $1.2B. From 2009 to 2016, growth of global published advertising material exports failed to regain its strength.

Published Advertising Material Exports By Country

China (17K tonnes) represented the main exporting country with an export of around 17K tonnes, which resulted at 44% of total exports. It was distantly followed by South Korea (3.5K tonnes), the U.S. (2.9K tonnes), Germany (2.8K tonnes), Mexico (2.2K tonnes), and China, Hong Kong SAR (1.9K tonnes), together constituting 36% share of total published advertising material exports. The following exporters - Italy (1.6K tonnes) held near 4% of total exports, each.

China experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. At the same time, Mexico (+21.5%), South Korea (+16.6%), and China, Hong Kong SAR (+2.6%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Mexico emerged as the fastest growing importer/exporter in the world, with a CAGR of +21.5% from 2007-2016. Italy, and the U.S. experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Germany (-3.6%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Germany (3%) increased significantly, the share of Mexico (-5.0%), and South Korea (-7.0%) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Germany ($233M), China ($202M) and China, Hong Kong SAR ($111M) were the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2016, with a combined 51% share of global exports.

China (+16.1% per year) had the highest growth rate of published advertising material exports, among the main exporting countries, over the last 9 year period, while the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Published Advertising Material Export Prices By Country

In 2016, the average export price for published advertising material amounted to $28 per kg, surging by 4% against the previous year. In general, published advertising material export price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014, when export price increased by 12% y-o-y. Global published advertising material export peaked of $33 per kg in 2011; however, from 2012 to 2016, it failed to regain its strength.

Export prices varied noticeably by country of destination. the country with the highest export prices was Germany ($84 per kg), while South Korea ($5,018 per tonne) was among the lowest.

From 2007 to 2016, the most notable growth rate of published advertising material export prices was attained by China (+15.8% per year), while the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
