Postcard Imports By Country

In 2016, China (X tonnes) represented the key importer for postcard, creating X% of total imports. The Netherlands (X tonnes) occupied the second position in the ranking, followed by the UK (X tonnes), and the U.S. (X tonnes). All these countries together occupied near X% share of total imports. The following importers - Canada (X tonnes), China, Hong Kong SAR (X tonnes), and Syrian Arab Republic (X tonnes) together made up X% of total imports.

China experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. At the same time, the Netherlands (+X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, the Netherlands emerged as the fastest growing importer/exporter in the world, with a CAGR of +X% from 2007-2016. The U.S., Canada, and Syrian Arab Republic experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, the UK (-X%), and China, Hong Kong SAR (-X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of China, Hong Kong SAR (X%), and the UK (X%) increased significantly, the share of the Netherlands (-X%) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, the U.S. ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported postcard worldwide, making up X% of global imports. The second position in the ranking was occupied by the UK ($X), with the share of X% of global imports. It was followed by Canada, with the share of X%.

In the U.S., postcard imports contracted by an average annual rate of -X% over the period from 2007-2016. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: the UK (-X% per year) and Canada (-X% per year).

Postcard Import Prices By Country

The average postcard import price stood at $X per tonne in 2016, remaining relatively unchanged against the previous year level. Overall, postcard import price continues to indicate a temperate curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2008, an increase of X% year-to-year. In that year, average postcard import price attained its maximum level of $X per tonne. From 2009 to 2016, growth of average postcard import price failed to regain its strength.

There were significant differences in the average import prices amongst major importing countries. In 2016, the country with the highest import prices was the U.S. ($X per kg), while Syrian Arab Republic ($X per tonne) was among the lowest.

From 2007 to 2016, the most notable growth rate of postcard import prices was attained by China, Hong Kong SAR (+X% per year), while the other global leaders experienced mixed trends in the import price figures.
