In 2016, China, Hong Kong SAR (X tonnes), distantly followed by the U.S. (X tonnes), Japan (X tonnes), Germany (X tonnes), and the UK (X tonnes) were the key exporters of plastic waste, parings and scrap, together creating X% of total exports. France (X tonnes), the Netherlands (X tonnes), Belgium (X tonnes), Mexico (X tonnes), Spain (X tonnes), Thailand (X tonnes), and Vietnam (X tonnes) occupied the mild share of total exports.
From 2007 to 2016, the most notable growth rate of plastic waste, parings and scrap exports, among the main exporting countries, was attained by Vietnam (+X% per year), while the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest plastic waste, parings and scrap markets worldwide were China, Hong Kong SAR ($X), the U.S. ($X) and Japan ($X), together comprising X% of global exports.Germany, the UK, the Netherlands, Mexico, France, Belgium, Thailand, Spain and Vietnam lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further X%.

In 2016, the average export price for plastic waste, parings and scrap amounted to $X per tonne, coming down by -X% against the previous year. Overall, plastic waste, parings and scrap export price continues to indicate a slight downturn. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2011, when export increased by X% year-to-year. Over the period under review, average plastic waste, parings and scrap export price attained its maximum level of $X per tonne in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2016, it stood at a somewhat lower level.
