In 2016, approx. 343K tonnes of lathe for removing metal were exported worldwide; declining by -8.6% against the previous year figure. Overall, lathe for removing metal exports continue to indicate a significant decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2011, when it surged by 34% year-to-year. Global lathe for removing metal export peaked of 453K tonnes in 2007; however, from 2008 to 2016, it stood at a somewhat lower level.

Lathe For Removing Metal Exports By Country

In 2016, Japan (85K tonnes), distantly followed by Germany (40K tonnes), South Korea (37K tonnes), China (34K tonnes), Belgium (23K tonnes), the U.S. (21K tonnes), and Italy (18K tonnes) were the key exporters of lathe for removing metal, together making up 75% of total exports. The following exporters - the UK (9.9K tonnes), Thailand (8.3K tonnes), Spain (7.4K tonnes), Czech Republic (6.8K tonnes), and Switzerland (5.4K tonnes) together made up 11% of total exports.

Exports from Japan decreased at an average annual rate of -3.3% from 2007 to 2016. At the same time, Thailand (+13.0%), and Spain (+12.8%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Thailand emerged as the fastest growing importer/exporter in the world, with a CAGR of +13.0% from 2007-2016. Germany, Switzerland, and Italy experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, the U.S. (-2.0%), Belgium (-2.0%), China (-2.4%), the UK (-3.0%), Czech Republic (-3.4%), and South Korea (-4.5%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2007 to 2016, the share of Japan, South Korea, and China increased by 9%, 5%, and 2% percentage points, while Thailand (-1.6%) saw their share reduced. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, the largest lathe for removing metal markets worldwide were Japan ($1.5B), Germany ($922M) and South Korea ($471M), together accounting for 53% of global exports.China, Italy, Belgium, the U.S., Switzerland, Spain, Thailand, Czech Republic and the UK lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 37%.

Thailand (+16.4% per year) had the highest growth rate of lathe for removing metal exports, in terms of the main exporting countries, over the last 9 years, while the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2016, the average export price for lathe for removing metal amounted to $16 per kg, approximately equating the previous year level. In general, lathe for removing metal export price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2008, when export increased by 12% from the previous year level. Global lathe for removing metal export peaked of $18 per kg in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2016, it failed to regain its strength.
