In 2016, approx. X tonnes of footwear were exported worldwide; shrinking by -X% against the previous year figure. Overall, footwear exports continue to indicate a slight decline. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2011, when export increased by X% y-o-y. Global footwear export peaked of X tonnes in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2016, it stood at a somewhat lower level.
In value terms, footwear exports stood at $X in 2016. In general, footwear exports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. Over the period under review, global footwear exports attained its maximum level of $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2016, it failed to regain its strength.

Footwear Exports By Country
China (X tonnes) represented the main exporter of footwear in the world, finishing at X tonnes, which was approx. X% of total exports in 2016. It was distantly followed by United Arab Emirates (X tonnes), committing X% share of total footwear exports. The following exporters - the Dominican Republic (X tonnes), South Korea (X tonnes), Turkey (X tonnes), the U.S. (X tonnes), Poland (X tonnes), Spain (X tonnes), Viet Nam (X tonnes), France (X tonnes), and Singapore (X tonnes) together made up X% of total exports.
China experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. At the same time, Turkey (+X%), South Korea (+X%), United Arab Emirates (+X%), Spain (+X%), France (+X%), the U.S. (+X%), Poland (+X%), and Singapore (+X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Turkey emerged as the fastest growing importer/exporter in the world, with a CAGR of +X% from 2007-2016. By contrast, the Dominican Republic (-X%), and Viet Nam (-X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. China (X%), and Viet Nam (X%) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the global exports, while Turkey, South Korea, and United Arab Emirates saw its share reduced by -X%, -X%, and -X% from 2007 to 2016, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, China ($X) remains the largest footwear supplier in the world, making up X% of global exports. The second position in the ranking was occupied by France ($X), with the share of X% of global exports. It was followed by Viet Nam, with the share of X%.
From 2007 to 2016, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value of footwear exports in China declined by -X%. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates: France (+X% per year) and Viet Nam (-X% per year).
Footwear Export Prices By Country
The average footwear export price stood at $X per kg in 2016, lowering by -X% against the previous year. Overall, it indicated a slight expansion from 2007 to 2016: the export price value increased at an average annual rate of +X% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations throughout the analyzed period. Based on the result of 2016, footwear export price decreased by -X% against its level of 2014. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013, when export increased by X% against the previous year level. Global footwear export peaked of $X per kg in 2008; however, from 2009 to 2016, it stood at a somewhat lower level.
There were significant differences in the average export prices amongst major exporting countries. In 2016, the country with the highest export prices was France ($X per kg), while South Korea ($X per tonne) was among the lowest.
From 2007 to 2016, the most notable growth rate of footwear export prices was attained by France (+X% per year), while the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
