The countries with the highest levels of engine generator exports in 2016 were Japan (216K tonnes), China (181K tonnes), the U.S. (130K tonnes), and Mexico (118K tonnes), together recording 51% of total export. France (77K tonnes) held a 6% share (based on tonnes) of global engine generator exports, which put it in second place, following Spain (6%), and Germany (5%). Hungary (56K tonnes), South Korea (47K tonnes), Italy (41K tonnes), Poland (27K tonnes), and Thailand (24K tonnes) took the mild share of total exports.

From 2007 to 2016, the most notable growth rate of engine generator exports, among the main exporting countries, was attained by Spain (+15.0% per year), while the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest engine generator markets worldwide were Japan ($3.3B), the U.S. ($2.3B) and China ($2B), with a combined 41% share of global exports.

China (+13.0% per year) experienced the highest rates of growth with regard to the engine generator exports, among the main exporting countries, over the last 9 year period, while the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Engine Generator Export Prices By Country

In 2016, the average export price for engine generator amounted to $15 per kg, dropping by -3.6% against the previous year. In general, engine generator export price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2008, when export increased by 13% y-o-y. Over the period under review, average engine generator export price attained its maximum level of $18 per kg in 2011; however, from 2012 to 2016, it stood at a somewhat lower level.

Export prices varied noticeably by country of destination. the country with the highest export prices was Germany ($27 per kg), while Spain ($6,856 per tonne) was among the lowest.
