Which Country Exports the Most Dry Beans in the World?

Global dry bean exports amounted to 3,246 thousand tonnes in 2015, ascending by +16.7% against the previous year level. Overall, the global dry bean exports indicated a pronounced growth from 2007 to 2015. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticable fluctuations throughout the analyzed period. The total export volume increased at an average annual rate of +3.4% over the last eight years.

The growth pace was the most rapid in 2010, when the output figure increased by +18% from the previous year level. In that year, the global dry bean exports attained its maximum volume of 3,505 thousand tonnes. From 2011 to 2015, the total dry bean exports growth failed to regain its strength.

In value terms, global exports amounted to $2,405 million in 2015. Overall, the value of global exports increased tangibly from 2007 to 2015, expanding at an average annual rate of +4.3%. This trend pattern, however, indicated relatively mild fluctuations throughout the analyzed period.

Dry Bean Imports By Country

The countries with the highest levels of the dry bean exports in 2015 were Mozambique (668 thousand tonnes), China (463 thousand tonnes), the United States (429 thousand tonnes), together accounting for 48% of total exports.

From 2007 to 2015, the most notable growth rates of dry bean exports among the main exporting countries was attained by Mozambique (+72.2% per year), while the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, China (595 million USD), the United States (357 million USD) and Argentina (274 million USD) were the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2015, together accounting for 51% of total exports.

Australia (+31.3% per year) had the highest growth rates of dry bean exports among the main exporting countries over the last eight years, while the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
