Which Country Exports the Most Cement Plates in the World?

In 2016, approx. 36K tonnes of cement plate were exported worldwide; flattening at the previous year level. Overall, cement plate exports continue to indicate a noticeable curtailment. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2010, when export increased by 16% y-o-y. Over the period under review, global cement plate exports reached its maximum volume of 52K tonnes in 2008; however, from 2009 to 2016, it stood at a somewhat lower level.

In value terms, cement plate exports totaled $6.1B in 2016. Overall, cement plate exports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. Global cement plate export peaked of $8.2B in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2016, it stood at a somewhat lower level.

Cement Plate Exports By Country

In 2016, China (6.9K tonnes), and the Netherlands (6.7K tonnes) represented the largest exporters of cement plate in the globe, together finishing at near 37% of total exports. Japan (3.1K tonnes) occupied a 9% share (based on tonnes) of global cement plate exports, which put it in second place, following Israel (7%), India (7%), Germany (7%), and the U.S. (5%). The following exporters - Sweden (1.3K tonnes), Austria (1.1K tonnes), Singapore (1K tonnes), South Korea (1K tonnes), and Belgium (913 tonnes) held approx. 15% of total exports, each.

From 2007 to 2016, the most notable growth rate of cement plate exports, among the main exporting countries, was attained by the Netherlands (+45.2% per year), while the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest cement plate markets worldwide were Germany ($946M), Japan ($736M) and Israel ($691M), with a combined 39% share of global exports.Belgium, Sweden, the U.S., China, South Korea, the Netherlands, Singapore, Austria and India lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 49%.

China (+8.9% per year) recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the cement plate exports, among the main exporting countries, over the last 9 years, while the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Cement Plate Export Prices By Country

The average cement plate export price stood at $168 per kg in 2016, shrinking by -9.0% against the previous year. Overall, it indicated a remarkable increase from 2007 to 2016: the export price value increased at an average annual rate of +4.3% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations throughout the analyzed period. Based on the result of 2016, cement plate export price decreased by -27.9% against its level of 2013. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2010, when export price increased by 32% year-to-year. Over the period under review, average cement plate export price attained its maximum level of $234 per kg in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2016, it stood at a somewhat lower level.

Export prices varied noticeably by country of destination. the country with the highest export prices was Belgium ($658 per kg), while India ($20 per kg) was among the lowest.

From 2007 to 2016, the most notable growth rate of cement plate export prices was attained by the U.S. (+34.9% per year), while the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
