Global carrot and turnip exports amounted to 2,631 thousand tonnes in 2015, going up by +7.1% against the previous year level. Overall, the global carrot and turnip exports indicated a pronounced growth from 2007 to 2015. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticable fluctuations throughout the analyzed period. The total export volume increased at an average annual rate of +3.6% over the last eight years.

The growth pace was the most rapid in 2010, when the output figure increased by +28% from the previous year level. Over the period under review, the global carrot and turnip exports attained its maximum volume of 2,721 thousand tonnes in 2011. From 2012 to 2015, the total carrot and turnip exports growth failed to regain its strength.

In value terms, global exports amounted to $1,231 million in 2015. Overall, the value of global exports increased tangibly from 2007 to 2015, expanding at an average annual rate of +5.5%. This trend pattern, however, indicated relatively mild fluctuations throughout the analyzed period.

Carrot And Turnip Imports By Country

The countries with the highest levels of the carrot and turnip exports in 2015 were China (653 thousand tonnes), the Netherlands (504 thousand tonnes), Israel (140 thousand tonnes), together accounting for 49% of total exports.

From 2007 to 2015, the most notable growth rates of carrot and turnip exports among the main exporting countries was attained by Israel (+8.6% per year), while the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, China (323 million USD), the Netherlands (194 million USD) and the United States (126 million USD) were the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2015, together accounting for 52% of total exports.

Israel (+16.0% per year) had the highest growth rates of carrot and turnip exports among the main exporting countries over the last eight years, while the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
