Which Country Exports the Most Bulldozers and Angle Dozers in the World?

In 2016, the global bulldzer exports totaled 6.6M tonnes, reducing by -6.7% against the previous year level. In general, bulldzer exports continue to indicate a pronounced downturn. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2011, an increase of 40% from the previous year level. Global bulldzer export peaked of 9.4M tonnes in 2008; however, from 2009 to 2016, it stood at a somewhat lower level.

In value terms, bulldzer exports amounted to $33B in 2016. In general, bulldzer exports continue to indicate a pronounced decline. Over the period under review, global bulldzer exports attained its maximum level of $53B in 2008; however, from 2009 to 2016, it failed to regain its strength.

Bulldzer Exports By Country

In 2016, Japan (1.6M tonnes), distantly followed by the U.S. (648K tonnes), the Netherlands (595K tonnes), South Korea (575K tonnes), China (544K tonnes), Germany (506K tonnes), and the UK (331K tonnes) were the largest exporters of bulldzer, together creating 73% of total exports. Belgium (295K tonnes), France (202K tonnes), Brazil (145K tonnes), Italy (144K tonnes), and Austria (127K tonnes) followed a long way behind this figure.

Exports from Japan decreased at an average annual rate of -5.1% from 2007 to 2016. At the same time, China (+5.1%), Italy (+2.2%), and the Netherlands (+1.9%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, China emerged as the fastest growing importer/exporter in the world, with a CAGR of +5.1% from 2007-2016. By contrast, Germany (-1.1%), South Korea (-2.5%), Austria (-3.9%), Brazil (-4.0%), the UK (-5.7%), the U.S. (-6.0%), France (-8.2%), and Belgium (-9.7%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Japan (15%), the U.S. (7%), Belgium (7%), the UK (4%), France (4%), and South Korea (2%) increased significantly, the share of China (-3.0%) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Japan ($8B) remains the largest bulldzer supplier in the world, making up 24% of global exports. The second position in the ranking was occupied by the U.S. ($3.5B), with the share of 11% of global exports. It was followed by China, with the share of 8%.

In Japan, bulldzer exports contracted by an average annual rate of -3.1% over the period from 2007-2016. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: the U.S. (-5.6% per year) and China (+4.8% per year).

Bulldzer Export Prices By Country

In 2016, the average export price for bulldzer amounted to $5,016 per tonne, standing approx. at the previous year level. In general, bulldzer export price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2010, an increase of 28% against the previous year level. In that year, average bulldzer export price attained its maximum level of $6,385 per tonne. From 2011 to 2016, growth of average bulldzer export price failed to regain its strength.

Export prices varied noticeably by country of destination. the country with the highest export prices was Brazil ($9,331 per tonne), while the Netherlands ($2,401 per tonne) was among the lowest.

From 2007 to 2016, the most notable growth rate of bulldzer export prices was attained by France (+3.6% per year), while the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
