In 2016, the amount of antisera exported worldwide totaled 226K tonnes, descending by -17.3% against the previous year level. Overall, it indicated a strong increase from 2007 to 2016: the total exports volume increased at an average annual rate of +6.1% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2009, when export increased by 38% from the previous year level. Over the period under review, global antisera exports reached its maximum volume of 273K tonnes in 2015, falling back in the following year.

Antisera Exports By Country

The countries with the highest levels of antisera exports in 2016 were the UK (29K tonnes), Germany (25K tonnes), France (23K tonnes), Spain (20K tonnes), Italy (16K tonnes), China (14K tonnes), Belgium (12K tonnes), Argentina (11K tonnes), Austria (9.1K tonnes), Switzerland (7.3K tonnes), Denmark (6.2K tonnes), and India (5.1K tonnes), together recording 79% of total export.

From 2007 to 2016, the most notable growth rate of antisera exports, among the main exporting countries, was attained by India (nan% per year), while the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest antisera markets worldwide were Switzerland ($26B), Germany ($23B) and Belgium ($13B), together accounting for 49% of global exports.The UK, France, Austria, Spain, Denmark, Italy, India, China and Argentina lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 20%.

China (+35.0% per year) had the highest rates of growth with regard to the antisera exports, in terms of the main exporting countries, over the last 9 years, while the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Antisera Export Prices By Country

In 2016, the average export price for antisera amounted to $561 per kg, surging by 21% against the previous year. Overall, it indicated a strong expansion from 2007 to 2016: the export price value increased at an average annual rate of +4.7% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations throughout the analyzed period. Based on the result of 2016, antisera export price increased by +70.7% against its level of 2010. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2012, when export increased by 22% year-to-year. Global antisera export peaked in 2016, and is expected to retain its growth in the immediate term.

There were significant differences in the average export prices amongst major exporting countries. In 2016, the country with the highest export prices was Switzerland ($3.6K per kg), while Argentina ($13 per kg) was among the lowest.

From 2007 to 2016, the most notable growth rate of antisera export prices was attained by Argentina (+8.7% per year), while the other global leaders experienced mixed trends in the export price figures.
