Global maize consumption amounted to X thousand tonnes in 2015, ascending by +X% against the previous year level. Overall, the global maize consumption indicated a moderate growth from 2007 to 2015. The trend pattern, however, was relatively stable, with only minor fluctuations throughout the analyzed period. The total consumption volume increased at an average annual rate of +X%. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2012, when the output figure increased by +X% from the previous year level. In that year, the global maize consumption attained its maximum volume of X thousand tonnes. From 2013 to 2015, the total maize consumption growth failed to regain its strength.

Global Green Maize Consumption

Moreover, maize consumption in the United States surpassed the figures recorded by Mexico fourfold. They were followed by Hungary with a X% of global consumption share and Indonesia with a X% share.
From 2007 to 2015, an average annual growth rate of maize consumption in the United States stood at -X%. The remaining consuming countries recorded the following average annual growth rates: Mexico (+X% per year) and Nigeria (+X% per year).
The highest levels of maize (green) per capita consumption was registered in Hungary (X kg/year), followed by the United States (X kg/year), Mexico (X kg/year), Nigeria (X kg/year) and Indonesia (X kg/year), while the average per capita consumption of maize (green) was estimated at X kg/year in 2015.
In Mexico, per capita maize (green) consumption has grown noticably (+X% per year) in recent years. In 2015, Mexico per capita consumption reached X kg/year as compared with X kg/year in 2007.
