Global cocoa consumption amounted to X thousand tonnes in 2015, picking up by +X% against the previous year level. Overall, the global cocoa consumption indicated a moderate decline from 2007 to 2015. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticable fluctuations throughout the analyzed period. The total consumption volume decreased at an average annual rate of -X%. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2012, when the output figure increased by +X% from the previous year level. Over the period under review, the global cocoa consumption attained its maximum volume of X thousand tonnes in 2008. From 2009 to 2015, the total cocoa consumption growth failed to regain its strength.

Global Cocoa Beans Consumption
In 2015, the countries with the highest consumption were Côte D'Ivoire (X thousand tonnes), Ghana (X thousand tonnes), Indonesia (X thousand tonnes), together accounting for X% of total consumption. They were followed by the Netherlands with a X% of global consumption share and the United States with a X% share.
From 2007 to 2015, the most notable growth rates of cocoa consumption among the main consuming countries was attained by Ghana (+X% per year), while the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Per capita cocoa (bean) in Côte D'Ivoire was estimated at X kg/year, much higher than the global average of X kg/year. Côte D'Ivoire was the leading country in terms of per capita consumption, among the main consumers of cocoa (bean), followed by the Netherlands (X kg/year), Ghana (X kg/year), Indonesia (X kg/year) and the United States (X kg/year).
In Ghana, per capita cocoa (bean) consumption has grown noticably (+X% per year) in recent years. In 2015, Ghana per capita consumption reached X kg/year as compared with X kg/year in 2007.
