UK Maltodextrine Price Rises 6%, Averaging $1,448 per Ton
United Kingdom Maltodextrine Import Price in November 2022
In November 2022, the maltodextrine price amounted to $1,448 per ton (CIF, United Kingdom), growing by 5.6% against the previous month. In general, the import price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in June 2022 an increase of 56% month-to-month. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the maximum at $1,567 per ton in April 2022; however, from May 2022 to November 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In November 2022, the country with the highest price was Poland ($2,106 per ton), while the price for Belgium ($985 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2022 to November 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Poland (+3.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
United Kingdom Maltodextrine Imports
In November 2022, maltodextrine imports into the UK reduced slightly to 5.8K tons, declining by -4% against the previous month's figure. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in May 2022 with an increase of 101% against the previous month. As a result, imports reached the peak of 10K tons. From June 2022 to November 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, maltodextrine imports amounted to $8.4M (IndexBox estimates) in November 2022. Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in May 2022 with an increase of 18% against the previous month. As a result, imports reached the peak of $9.4M. From June 2022 to November 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.
United Kingdom Maltodextrine Imports by Country
France (2.1K tons), Belgium (1.3K tons) and Turkey (552 tons) were the main suppliers of maltodextrine imports to the UK, with a combined 69% share of total imports. Romania, the Netherlands, Germany, Slovakia, Finland and Poland lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 24%.
From January 2022 to November 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Romania (with a CAGR of +51.3%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, France ($3M) constituted the largest supplier of maltodextrine to the UK, comprising 36% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Belgium ($1.3M), with a 16% share of total imports. It was followed by the Netherlands, with an 8.8% share.
From January 2022 to November 2022, the average monthly rate of growth in terms of value from France was relatively modest. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average monthly rates of imports growth: Belgium (-1.5% per month) and the Netherlands (-0.8% per month).
