Turkey's Reliance on Coal: Rising Prices Impacting Multiple Industries

The increase in coal prices is a reflection of the country's reliance on coal as a primary source of energy. In recent years, Turkey has been focusing on building up its coal power capacities, with a number of new coal-fired plants being built. This has resulted in a growing demand for coal, driving up the prices. The price hike is likely to have an impact on various projects that depend on coal as an input, such as cement and steel manufacturing. However, it is not just Turkey that is facing these challenges, as many countries across the world are grappling with the issue of rising coal prices. Nonetheless, Turkey's increased focus on renewable energy sources, such as wind and solar, could offer some relief in the long term.
