Factors Affecting Mandarin and Clementine Prices
Spain is the second largest producer of mandarins in the world, behind only China. Spanish mandarins are grown mainly in the provinces of Alicante and Murcia. Clementine prices in Spain are affected by several factors, including production costs, weather conditions, export markets, and domestic demand.
Production costs for Spanish growers are relatively high compared to other countries producing mandarins. This is due to a number of factors, including higher labor costs, more expensive inputs (e.g. water), and stricter environmental regulations. Weather conditions can also have a big impact on Clementine prices in Spain; for example, a warm winter may lead to an early harvest and lower prices, while a cold snap can damage crops and lead to higher prices.
