In Apr 2022, the average export soya beans price per ton amounted to $28,613, rising by 80% against the previous month. In general, the export price, however, continues to indicate a drastic downturn. The export price peaked at $35,668 per ton in Jan 2022; however, from Feb 2022 to Apr 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was China ($58,093 per ton), while the average price for exports to Canada ($957 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From Jan 2022 to Apr 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Thailand (+47.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
U.S. Soya Bean Exports
In Apr 2022, after three months of growth, there was significant decline in overseas shipments of soya beans, when their volume decreased by -32% to 84K tons. Overall, exports showed a perceptible reduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in Mar 2022 with an increase of 24% m-o-m. As a result, the exports attained the peak of 124K tons. From Apr 2022 to Apr 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, soya bean exports surged to $2.4B (IndexBox estimates) in Apr 2022. Over the period under review, exports showed a deep setback. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at $3.5B in Jan 2022; however, from Feb 2022 to Apr 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.
U.S. Soya Bean Exports by Country
Canada (30K tons) was the main destination for soya bean exports from the United States, with a 35% share of total exports. Moreover, soya bean exports to Canada exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, China (15K tons), twofold. The third position in this ranking was occupied by Taiwan (Chinese) (15K tons), with an 18% share.
From Jan 2022 to Apr 2022, the average monthly rate of growth in terms of volume to Canada stood at -3.9%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average monthly rates of exports growth: China (-1.7% per month) and Taiwan (Chinese) (+2.7% per month).
It was followed by Taiwan (Chinese), with a 4.7% share.
From Jan 2022 to Apr 2022, the average monthly rate of growth in terms of value to China amounted to -24.2%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average monthly rates of exports growth: Indonesia (+30.4% per month) and Taiwan (Chinese) (+6.3% per month).
