Exports by Country
France dominates salicylic acid exports structure, recording X tonnes, which was near X% of total exports in 2018. Germany (X tonnes) took a X% share (based on tonnes) of total exports, which put it in second place, followed by the UK (X%). Spain (X tonnes) followed a long way behind the leaders.
France experienced a relatively flat trend pattern of salicylic acid and its salts exports. At the same time, the UK (+X%), Spain (+X%) and Germany (+X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, the UK emerged as the fastest growing exporter in the European Union, with a CAGR of +X% from 2008-2018. Germany (-X%), Spain (-X%) and the UK (-X%) significantly weakened its position in terms of the global exports, while the shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, France ($X), Germany ($X) and Spain ($X) appeared to be the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2018, together accounting for X% of total exports.
Export Prices by Country
The salicylic acid export price in the European Union stood at $X per kg in 2018, picking up by X% against the previous year. Over the last decade, the salicylic acid export price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern.
Export prices varied noticeably by the country of origin; the country with the highest export price was Germany ($X per tonne), while the UK ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.
From 2008 to 2018, the most notable rate of growth in terms of export prices was attained by France, while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the export price figures.
Imports in the EU
In 2018, the amount of salicylic acid and its salts imported in the European Union stood at X tonnes, increasing by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, salicylic acid imports, however, continue to indicate a mild descent.
In value terms, salicylic acid imports stood at $X (IndexBox estimates) in 2018. Over the last decade, salicylic acid imports, however, continue to indicate a slight reduction. The level of imports peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2018, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Imports by Country
In 2018, Germany (X tonnes) represented the major importer for salicylic acid and its salts, constituting X% of total imports. Poland (X tonnes) held the second position in the ranking, followed by Italy (X tonnes), Sweden (X tonnes), Denmark (X tonnes), France (X tonnes), the UK (X tonnes) and Spain (X tonnes). All these countries together occupied approx. X% share of total imports.
Imports into Germany decreased at an average annual rate of -X% from 2008 to 2018. At the same time, Poland (+X%), France (+X%), Denmark (+X%) and Italy (+X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Poland emerged as the fastest growing importer in the European Union, with a CAGR of +X% from 2008-2018. Sweden experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, the UK (-X%) and Spain (-X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Germany (X%), Spain (X%) and the UK (X%) increased significantly in terms of the global imports from 2008-2018, the share of Denmark (-X%), France (-X%), Italy (-X%) and Poland (-X%) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Germany ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported salicylic acid and its salts in the European Union, comprising X% of total salicylic acid imports. The second position in the ranking was occupied by Italy ($X), with a X% share of total imports. It was followed by Poland, with a X% share.
Import Prices by Country
The salicylic acid import price in the European Union stood at $X per kg in 2018, increasing by X% against the previous year. In general, the salicylic acid import price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern.
Average import prices varied somewhat amongst the major importing countries. In 2018, major importing countries recorded the following import prices: in Italy ($X per tonne) and France ($X per tonne), while Denmark ($X per tonne) and Poland ($X per tonne) were amongst the lowest.
From 2008 to 2018, the most notable rate of growth in terms of import prices was attained by the UK, while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
