U.S. Lime Export Price per Ton June 2022
In June 2022, the lime price per ton amounted to $155 (FOB, US), with an increase of 4.3% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in March 2022 an increase of 10% month-to-month. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $159 per ton. From April 2022 to June 2022, the the average export prices failed to regain momentum.
Average prices varied noticeably for the major foreign markets. In June 2022, the country with the highest price was Mexico ($159 per ton), while the average price for exports to Canada totaled $153 per ton.
From January 2022 to June 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Canada (+1.1%).
U.S. Lime Exports
In June 2022, approx. 33K tons of lime were exported from the United States; picking up by 34% compared with the previous month. Over the period under review, total exports indicated prominent growth from January 2022 to June 2022: its volume increased at an average monthly rate of +8.2% over the last five months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on June 2022 figures, exports increased by +66.4% against March 2022 indices. As a result, the exports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, lime exports skyrocketed to $5.1M (IndexBox estimates) in June 2022. In general, total exports indicated resilient growth from January 2022 to June 2022: its value increased at an average monthly rate of +8.1% over the last five months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on June 2022 figures, exports increased by +62.2% against March 2022 indices. As a result, the exports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
U.S. Lime Exports by Country
Canada (32K tons) was the main destination for lime exports from the United States, accounting for a 98% share of total exports. It was followed by Mexico (667 tons), with a 2% share of total exports.
From January 2022 to June 2022, the average monthly rate of growth in terms of volume to Canada stood at +8.6%.
In value terms, Canada ($4.9M) remains the key foreign market for lime exports from the United States, comprising 96% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Mexico ($106K), with a 2.1% share of total exports.
From January 2022 to June 2022, the average monthly growth rate of value to Canada amounted to +9.7%.
