Germany's Wooden Kitchen Furniture Price Shrinks to $173 per Unit

Germany Wooden Kitchen Furniture Export Price in November 2022

In November 2022, the wooden kitchen furniture price stood at $173 per unit (FOB, Germany), leveling off at the previous month. Over the last ten-month period, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.0%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in April 2022 an increase of 14% m-o-m. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $189 per unit. From May 2022 to November 2022, the the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In November 2022, the country with the highest price was the UK ($233 per unit), while the average price for exports to Italy ($84.1 per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From January 2022 to November 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to China (+3.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Germany Wooden Kitchen Furniture Exports

In November 2022, after three months of growth, there was decline in overseas shipments of wooden furniture for kitchens, when their volume decreased by -2.6% to 1.6M units. In general, exports, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in February 2022 with an increase of 34% month-to-month. As a result, the exports reached the peak of 2M units. From March 2022 to November 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, wooden kitchen furniture exports shrank slightly to $271M (IndexBox estimates) in November 2022. The total export value increased at an average monthly rate of +1.7% over the period from January 2022 to November 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain months. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in September 2022 when exports increased by 35% m-o-m. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure at 311M units in February 2022; however, from March 2022 to November 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

Germany Wooden Kitchen Furniture Exports by Country

France (483K units), the Netherlands (249K units) and Austria (155K units) were the main destinations of wooden kitchen furniture exports from Germany, with a combined 57% share of total exports. These countries were followed by Belgium, Switzerland, the UK, Italy, China, the Czech Republic and Spain, which together accounted for a further 29%.

From January 2022 to November 2022, the biggest increases were in Italy (with a CAGR of +9.8%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest markets for wooden kitchen furniture exported from Germany were France ($69M), the Netherlands ($48M) and Austria ($26M), together accounting for 53% of total exports. Belgium, Switzerland, the UK, China, the Czech Republic, Spain and Italy lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 31%.

Among the main countries of destination, Switzerland, with a CAGR of +3.6%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
